I had just arrived in Gothenburg and this was going to be a short stop on my journey towards the Artic Circle and a bucket list view of the Northern Lights in Norway. With Northern Europe seeing some of the lowest recorded temperatures, I arrived to a snow covered Gothenburg via the Central Rail Station and was over the moon to find that the Clarion was literally across the road from the station. With only one night at this hotel it was a strategic triumph that everything from restaurants to the main shopping areas were all within a 10-20 minute walking distance. The views from my canal and station facing 4th floor room were fantastic, whilst I had minimal interaction with the staff they were definitely not warm and welcoming on check-in and gave the vibe of a large corporate hotel and not in a good way. I was too busy to worry about minor details such as this and overall enjoyed my short stay as part of my epic Scandinavian winter tour, this is a ideal short stop hotel. Although Gothenburg is a beautiful city and if I were to visit again in the summer I would probably stay somewhere smaller and more welcoming with the personal touch which is hard to achieve in such a large hotel. The hotel is in a beautifully renovated old Post Office Building and the rooms retain a wealth of original features which have been tastefully included into the room designs. I fully enjoyed my stay here as much for the location and convenience to explore this fantastic city along with the comfort of the rooms which ensured I was fresh in the morning for the next leg of my journey.

We have stayed at this hotel a number of times, and in different kinds of rooms. This time we got a lovely room, comfortable and spacious, with a lovely view and a large bathroom with separate shower and tub. The location of the hotel is very good, walking distance to the center, and with both trams and trains right there for further travel. The breakfast — included — is impressive. We did not eat at either of the restaurants this time, but have been very happy with both in the past. The staff was helpful in every way, and I especially want to give a shoutout to Mattias who went above and beyond. All in all a very nice stay. We will be back next time we are in Gothenburg.

breakfast was really good. Lots of variety. rooftop pool was great and very warm. Room was very clean and comfortable. Location was perfect. Right beside the central station. Can get everywhere with the bolt/voi scooters. I went to the japanese restaurant in the hotel and it was really good. And staff were very very helpful. they have a luggage storage room and will let you store luggage on the day you checkout also. If I stay in Gothenburg again, I will stay here.

Great location next to shopping and tourist sites. We ate at Nodra for dinner, which was excellent and had friendly staff. The Post bar is perfect for a cocktail. Our room was quiet- we requested a higher floor to avoid the noise of central station- and very nicely furnished. The rooftop pool was a great bonus to relax in for 1-2 hours, and the check in service with Mattias was outstanding. We would definitely stay here again.

It was extremely busy, so it was impressive how well they were able to keep the food stations full, and the tables bussed. The room was quiet and comfortable. All of the staff were friendly. We enjoyed a nice diner in the hotel restaurant, which had super friendly staff. Overall a great experience. The front desk staff was friendly too!
